![]() PANNACOTTA FUGO ♦ MERPERSON half of a step. if you can't take a step forward... then I'll step halfway to you. PHYSICALSKIN ◆ Soft and somewhat squishy to the touch, with a smooth texture; similar in nature to an octopus or squid. Base coloration is an inhumanly pale, ghostly white mottled with brightly colored freckles. Rather than being biolumescant, his skin has a subtle iridescent quality that reflects light rather than glowing. COLOR SHIFTING — Freckles and other mer features are constantly in a state of gradual, ever-changing color shifts. He cannot control these shifts and it has no use for camouflage or hypnosis. Additionally, this shifting is affected by his mood and emotional state; they may pulse become darker and brighter, or lighten and fade out during particularly sharp spikes or drops of feeling. EYES ◆ Wide and bright, with square-shaped pupils and white sclera. The irises, although naturally red, have shifted slightly to a more magenta color with purple undertones. EARS ◆ Come to a point at the tip. They're prone to twitching and moving in response to his emotion, such as flicking up when he's interested or pleased or swiveling down when he's embarrassed or annoyed. MOUTH ◆ Canine teeth have been replaced by small, sharp fangs capable of puncturing the skin in order to draw out a body's fluids. The inside of mouth and tongue are a bright, vivid purple. HANDS ◆ Fingers (and toes) are connected by purple webbing that has a subtle pearly, iridescent finish to it. The webbing is stretchy and flexible and doesn't impede hand movement. Nails have been transformed into short, naturally sharp violet claws capable of deploying a potent paralytic venom. With care and maintenance, these can be trimmed flat. HAIR ◆ Naturally white, due to his albinism, with a fine and wavy texture. Grows somewhat faster than normally. As his usual hairstyle is somewhat impractical underwater, he will often wear his hair back and out of the way using hair ties, pins, and cloth headbands. FINS ◆ Soft, flexible, and wavy. Similar in nature to a cuttlefish's mantle and will flutter and ripple even out of water. They are semi-translucent and have color-shifting properties, similar to his skin. They are located over his gills, behind his ears, on the underside of his arms from his wrists to his elbows, and from his knees to his ankles on the backs of his legs while in land form. GILLS ◆ Located on either side of his neck and ribs, protected with small fins, that enable underwater breathing. They're the same purple as his mouth and tongue. SHAPESHIFTING ◆ Capable of navigating life within the water, with the lower body of an octopus, or on land, with a pair of legs. Shifts uncontrollably into his water form, his "true" body, when exposed to water. As his body within the water is his true form, it is physically stronger and has sharper senses than his body on land. LAND FORM — Shifts to a more human body on land, the majority of his tentacles combining to form a pair of terrestrial legs, after a "drying out" period. Two tentacles remain, which sit just above his hips on either side of his waist. They are mobile (often seemingly of their own accord) and can be used to manipulate and hold objects, but are notably smaller and weaker on land than they are in water. On land, they reach to just above his ankles but grow to match the rest of his tentacles when he shifts into his water form.WEAKNESS ◆ Extremely susceptible to dehydration and drying out. In order to spend time on land, he must take care to both ingest plenty of water and take daily swims or baths. Being kept from water for prolonged periods will first affect his mobility on land, as his legs become increasingly stiff and painful to use, and even if he tries to hydrate externally will eventually be fatal. STRENGTHS ◆ Has a natural resistance to underwater pressure and the cold. He is comfortable at depths that would kill other monsters and will have no problem swimming even during bitterly cold winters. His blood, which is blue, has gained peculiar antifreeze qualities. PSYCHOLOGICALMUSICAL NATURE ◆ Instinctively drawn to both listen to and create music of all sorts; has a particular interest in piano and the guitar. Can often be found humming underneath his breath. HOARDING ◆ A profound desire to collect things that catch his interest, although exactly what he's interested in collecting is somewhat mercurial. He is (currently) most interested in sea glass, small pieces of driftwood, and "interesting" hair clips and earrings. SCHOOLING ◆ Has become (somewhat) less reserved in social situations and a bit more playful, albeit in a very dry way. Instinctively, he feels safer around his "school". He is also drawn to reach out to other aquatic monsters, in particular other mers and kelpies. DIET ◆ Prefers for seafood of all sorts, particularly crabs, shellfish, and other octopus. MAGICALHYPNOTIC VOICE ◆ Naturally soothing and pleasing to the ear. In particular, when focusing on this ability while singing, his voice will gain a hypnotic quality. Those who listen will find their guard lowered and are more susceptible to being lured away. WATER MANIPULATION ◆ Can conjure and mentally manipulate water. If he has no external source of water to draw from, this ability will quickly dehydrate him. This ability can also be used to aid with swimming, mimicking the jets of an octopus. MONSTROUS HUNGER ◆ Must consume humans or other monsters in order to remain sane and for his abilities to function. This hunger can be sated either by consuming intangible human vital essence, or energy, or by draining their bodily fluids. Energy can only be extracted by drowning victims in bodies of water, preferably natural; fluids must be drained directly from victims from wounds, such as cuts or punctures, although this method of feeding creates a dry corpse that offers little sustenance to others. He prefers to consume energy, which leaves physical remains that another Monster can consume. ASSIGNED MONSTER: ARACHNE
changes
◆ A body that resembles an arachnid-like creature. They may have as many limbs as the arachnid are based on plus one pair of humanoid arms.
◆ They can resemble any type of arachnid (and a few additional insects as listed below), although all Arachne are venomous and can spin webs regardless of what type of creature they resemble.
◆ Sharp claws in place of fingernails.
◆ Fangs in place of their canine teeth which contain a potent venom.
◆ Immunity to poison, including their own.
◆ The ability to sense nearby movement via vibrations in the ground (or on the Arachne's web). The tips of the Arachne's legs are very sensitive to any sort of movement and can detect the direction the movement is coming from as well.
◆ The ability to create large, intricate webs that are almost impossible to escape once tangled up in, unless the Arachne cuts the victim loose. The webs are difficult to destroy but are vulnerable to fire.
◆ Excellent night vision.
◆ Weakness to water. Arachne cannot swim and generally need some sort of raft to cross water. Shallow water and rain won't hurt them, however.
◆ Enhanced speed. While Arachne can appear large and bulky, they can move extremely fast.
◆ A need to feed on humans. The Arachne accomplishes this by trapping a human in their web and infecting them with their venom. Animals will satiate them temporarily, but if they go too long without feeding on humans they will start to lose their self-control until they do.
OPTIONAL CHANGES
◆ A fog form. This is an exaggerated version of their monster form that appears only during the fog and is a chance to make your monster more "horrifying" during the fog.
◆ Up to eight eyes.
◆ The ability to scale vertical walls and crawl upside down on ceilings and the like without falling.
◆ The ability to produce two special types of venom: one that will make its target unable to lie for an hour, and one that will force the target to obey the Arachne's commands for an hour. Only one of these can be used per day.
◆ Increased meticulousness. Arachne often can't stand when something is out of place, especially something to do with their own webs and dwellings, and will try to fix it as soon as possible.

He has also grown three additional sets of eyes, for a total of eight eyes. The first set of eyes has grown directly beneath his original eyes; the second on his temples, one eye on each temple; and a third smaller pair above the second pair at his temples. His additional eyes have exceptional night vision and give him a much wider field of vision; however, the eyes on his temples are, unfortunately, colorblind and their vision is poor in comparison to his primary eyes. Although they all naturally operate together as a single system, with concentration, he can look in different directions with each pair of eyes or close some eyes to focus on the vision of a particular pair of eyes. Additionally, his complexion, rather than having pink or warm undertones you would expect from a human skin tone, is very pale with undertones of purple and blue. When cut or injured, his blood is blue. Naturally, when he flushes, it’s in shades of blue and purple.
His canines have been replaced by hollow fangs capable of injecting venom. His primary venom is a powerful necrotic venom that will quickly paralyze and eventually kill humans; in particular, the flesh at the bite sites will become necrotic and slowly decay. He also has the ability to produce two secondary venoms, one that compels the victim to obey and one that compels the victim to speak the truth. These venoms only work reliably on humans. He can only produce one dose of one of these secondary venoms at a time per day, at the expense of his primary venom, and the effects only last for an hour. He is immune to poison, including his own venom.
He is capable of producing spider silk from his fingertips. Although not visible to the naked eye, his fingertips are covered with small "spigot" holes and effectively act as his spinnerets. When activated with pressure, such as a sharp pinch, a snap, or even biting his fingertips, he can draw out lines of silk. This silk is very sticky, elastic, and incredibly strong, although it is vulnerable to fire; with practice, he will be able to manipulate the weight as well as how sticky or elastic it is. The organ that contains his liquid silk is internal, with veins of silk, distinct from his veins and arteries, running up to his arms and fingertips. Fugo has a compulsion to weave complicated webs even when he is not on the hunt, particularly when he is stressed or the Fog is strong. He has also become increasingly meticulous; he can’t stand disorganization and mess or imperfections in his work. When he makes a schedule or a plan, it must be followed to the letter. He has an aversion to deep waters as his additional limbs are too heavy to keep the rest of his body buoyant, making it very easy to drown him.
When out of control due to hunger or rage during a Fog, Fugo will transform into a giant spider. It is similar in shape to Loxosceles rufescens, the Mediterranean brown recluse spider, although its golden eyes are placed more like a spider belonging to the Araneidae genus. However, rather than the spider's usual coloring and markings, it is primarily a dark violet and the cephalothorax and abdomen are covered in a violet and white diamond harlequin pattern. Its fangs and mouth drool uncontrollably. Fugo could potentially learn to control this transformation and retain rational thought, but this will take time.

changes/traits
◆ Red eyes that glow when the Demon is using magic.

◆ A weakness to salt and holy magic. Demons can't be killed by salt, but touching or consuming it does weaken them and they are unable to cross salt barriers on foot. Holy magic can kill a Demon, although there are few on Ryslig who know it.
◆ A more wicked nature. More than any other creature, Demons tend to be tempted to act on their darkest desires and forsake their human nature.
VAMPIRE
◆ The upper canines and/or upper lateral incisors elongated into fangs.
◆ Eye color ranging from pale pink to bright red.
◆ Paler skin.
◆ Heightened senses. Vampires will find that their senses are attuned to the scent of blood, and when very hungry they may start hearing the pulses of those nearby.
◆ Thirst for blood. Vampires feed only on blood and will actively crave it. If they don't feed for an extended amount of time, they will begin to go mad and lose their self-control until they can feed again.
◆ The ability to take the form of a bat. The character will look like a regular bat, and will be able to fly, but is more vulnerable in this form.
◆ The ability to take the form of fog. The character will be invulnerable in this form, but will also not be able to feed or cause any damage.
◆ Superhuman speed. Certain Vampires can move much faster than humans, appearing as nothing more than a blur.
◆ Vulnerability to silver. Silver will burn the skin on contact and can cause severe injury or even death if the Vampire is shot or stabbed with something made of silver.
◆ A compulsion to count spilled grain or seeds.
◆ Cannot enter private living spaces without explicit invitation. Trying to do so anyway, or remaining in a space when the invitation has been revoked, causes debilitating physical pain.

He has ghostly pale lavender skin, which tends to look particularly pallid the hungrier he is, and red eyes with gold sclera that glow whenever he uses demonic magic. He sports a pair of sharp fangs in his mouth and black claws that, although short, are wickedly sharp. A pair of curled violet horns have grown in on his head, as well as a pair of large violet bat wings that are capable of flight and a long, whip-like tail that has a diamond-shaped spade at the end. There are scattered diamond-shaped scales all over his his body, which more closely resemble freckles in areas where they are thin.
He has an odd hodge-podge of weaknesses. On his demon side, he is weak to salt and holy magic. As a vampire, he is weak to silver, cannot enter private living spaces without invitation, and has a compulsion to count spilled seeds and grains. While he is not undead and can go out in the sunlight without pain, his magical abilities are weaker and unreliable during daylight hours. Additionally, he has significantly increased hunger. He does not have the ability to consume souls and must instead drink blood to sate his hunger.
Fugo's abilities include demonic magic (minus the ability to extract souls), immunity to fire, the ability to take the form of fog, the ability to transform into a (suspiciously purple and white) bat, and superhuman speed. He has heightened physical senses that are particularly attuned to the scent of blood. When very hungry, he begins to hear the pulses of those nearby.
Psychologically, Fugo is more impulsive especially when it comes to seeking out the things he enjoys. He has far fewer filters and is more prone to saying what's on his mind. He has a certain sense of being more assured and self-confident, but it's more that he is less concerned with potential consequences for failure or offending people.
